Brother TN-339, reset Toner


There are two procedures for resetting the TN-331 & TN-336 depending on whether you have a print device only (HL series) or a multifunction device (MFC series).

Choose for which type of printer you want to perform the drum reset..

Multi-function Device (MFC series):
If you have a Brother MFP (MFC Series) and have recently replaced your TN-331 & TN-336 Toner Cartridge, you can manually reset the remaining toner. 

  1. Open the front cover.
  2. Hold 5 seconds the “down arrow”, if the pad is not visible, simply touch the pad to activate
  3. Press the up or down arrow buttons to select the cartridge you want to reset.
  • ​K-TNR-STD Black (Standard yield) /  ​K-TNR-HC Black (High yield)
  • C-TNR-STD Cyan (Standard yield) /  ​C-TNR-HC Cyan(High yield)
  • Y-TNR-STD Yellow (Standard yield) /  ​Y-TNR-HC Yellow (High yield)
  • M-TNR-STD Magenta (Standard yield) /  ​M-TNR-HC Magenta (High yield)
  1. Once you have selected your cartridge, press “yes” to reset the selected toner cartridge. Repeat for each toner cartridges color as required.
  2. Close the front cover.


Print device only (HL series):

If you have a Brother machine (HL Series) and have recently replaced your TN-331 & TN-336 Toner Cartridge, you can manually reset the remaining tonert. 

 

  1. Open the front cover.
  2. Press the “Secure” and “Cancel” buttons at the same time“.
  3. Reset Menu opens, with the Down Arrow, locate the cartridge to reset.  
  4. Select the cartridge you want to reset.
  • ​K-TNR-STD Black (Standard yield) /  ​K-TNR-HC Black (High yield)
  • C-TNR-STD Cyan (Standard yield) /  ​C-TNR-HC Cyan(High yield)
  • Y-TNR-STD Yellow(Standard yield) /  ​Y-TNR-HC Yellow (High yield)
  • M-TNR-STD Magenta (Standard yield) /  ​M-TNR-HC Magenta (High yield)
  1. Press the "Yes" button to reset the selected toner cartridge. Repeat for each color of toner cartridge if necessary.
  2. Close the front cover.
